In recent years, Toronto's political landscape has dramatically changed. The city councillors and members of parliament are becoming more representative of Toronto's demographics. Despite the diverse portrayal of government, last year's mayoral election brought to light the existence of racism, homophobia, Islamophobia and sexism in our community. A climate of discrimination signifies the importance of building awareness and discussion to make progress.
