Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs) play a crucial role in York Region’s workforce. The Gateway conference, on October 23 at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel in Richmond Hill, is a major step forward in bringing the York Region Immigration Settlement Strategy vision to life.
We are aiming to bring together about 500 IEPs, as well as newcomer entrepreneurs, employers, professional associations and government representatives, to make new contacts, exchange ideas and learn from each other.
This is the first conference of its kind in York Region. Similar events in other municipalities have been very successful, and we have every reason to believe this will also be positive.
The Gateway Conference topics will include:
- Credentials and accreditation
- Entrepreneurial opportunities
- The Canadian work culture
- York Region’s business environment
