Effective communication is a skill involving several different abilities. Language, culture, social context, personal preferences and communication skills all play a part in successful communication. When we move to a new work environment where a language other than our original language(s) is used, this can be a challenge. Even if we work at a place where our first language is spoken, successful communication can be tricky. Join this webinar to learn about the importance of workplace communication competency.

In this webinar, we will look at several different perspectives on successful workplace communication, including communication competencies as defined by regulators and employers. The focus of this webinar is the Canadian workplace, but a post-webinar discussion will allow us to explore other perspectives as well.

Webinar outline:

  • The importance of self-awareness
  • Being a competent communicator
  • Communication and personal identity: do I have to change who I am?
  • Professional communication competencies in regulated sectors

Registration Deadline:
